Inner and Outer Beauty

The adage ‘True beauty lies within’ is accepted worldwide; but this does not preclude the fact that those who are out of step with perceived norms, do not aspire to an outer appearance of being beautiful. To prove this point, there are a million beauty products sold daily. The amount of research and development being carried out, for cosmetic products and techniques, rivals the research being done for medicines. And why not? People like looking good; they like looking young. If there is a way to achieve it, most people would probably take it.

As you age, there comes a point where exercise and a good diet are not enough. True, they help your body stay in shape and keep you healthy, but they do not keep the wrinkles away. Wrinkles, spots, fine lines are some of the banes of all women. You could have the vivacity and the health of a teenager, but those lines say otherwise. With a little help from a cosmetologist, you can look the way you feel - young!

According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), 14.6 million cosmetic plastic surgery procedures, including both minimally-invasive and surgical and 5.6 million reconstructive plastic surgery procedures are performed in the United States, annually.

That says it all!

What is a Facelift?

Cosmetology is as old as time itself. According to historians, cosmetology was being performed in the times of Cleopatra. Over the last few decades, there has been a quantum leap in products and procedures that work to retain the “forever young” look. One of the most popular options is facelifts. As you age, you will find that some parts of the skin on your face tend to sag. This includes the cheeks, and the corners of the mouth and eyes.

Try this Experiment:

Stand in front of a mirror. Place your index fingers at the corners of your eyes. Place your middle fingers at either end, on the corners of the mouth. Now lift the skin up gently, just a tiny bit. Isn’t the difference in your face startling? Just those two tiny lifts can make you look ten years younger. What you just did, is the basis of a facelift. A cosmetologist will determine which areas of your face need a little lift to counter the flaccidity and where to smoothen the lines out.
Earlier, this was only possible with invasive surgery and hence the term ‘going under the knife’. Once a upon a time, facelifts were for the rich and famous, as they were prohibitively expensive and the patient needed to stay out of sight for months together, till their scars healed.

With advancement in technology, almost all facelifts are now non-invasive and it is an outpatient procedure. Since it is almost non invasive, the time taken for healing is much faster and the risks involved are negligible.

Look Young, Feel Younger

Many people frown upon cosmetology as going against nature. These same people use a variety of products, including moisturizers, sunscreens, products to prevent hair fall, and products to counter acne etc. All these beauty products are meant to enhance outer appearances of a person. Going a step further and using cosmetology to enhance how you look is no different. When you look good, you feel good. You are motivated to take on life and live it to the fullest. Looking younger makes you feel younger, and this helps you stay active and fit and independent much longer.

At this moment in time, you don’t have to be rich and famous to look good. You can choose to be the beautiful boy/girl next door, with cosmetology at your service!
